Collection: Encounters In A Landscape, Selected By Marjetica Potrč

About the exhibition

While at the Headlands Center For the Arts in Marin-- taking a pause from working on my drawings -- I used to take a walk in the open and grassy landscape of hills and valleys that gently descend to the sea. The works in the exhibition are stories of various encounters painted and sculpted by NIAD artists. I recognized in them my encounters with things and beings during long walks in nature: a stone, a plant, an animal, a hiker, a sudden storm, my winding thoughts. A hybrid world of humans-animals-plants. Hybrids we become when walking in the grass.
